Shirley F. Pearlman

October 7, 1924 - June 9, 2011

Shirley F. Pearlman, 86, of Janesville, WI passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center. She was born in Sioux City, IA on October 7, 1924, the daughter of Irving and Leah (Lefkow) Levy. She attended the University of Nebraska and the University of Minnesota where she was a member of Sigma Delta Tau Sorority. She married her soul mate, Bernard Pearlman in October of 1947. He preceded her in death in 1986. They resided in Appleton, WI where they raised their family. Shirley later resided in Des Moines, IA for a number of years prior to moving to Janesville 8 years ago. She was a life-time member of Haddasah where she volunteered for many activities and served as treasurer for many years. She enjoyed playing bridge, Mahjong and traveling.

Surviving are 3 children, Alan (Ann Abramson) Pearlman, David Pearlman, Wendy (Steve) Weiss, 5 grandchildren, Michael and Adam Pearlman, Amanda Pearlman, Nathan and Stacy Weiss, 1 great-grandchild, Katelyn Moran-Pearlman, 1 sister, Joy Hacker. Her husband and parents preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Moses Montefiore Cemetery, Appleton, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ECHO, Janesville Community Day Care Center or the charity of the donor’s choice. Assisting the family are Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, Janesville and Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel, Appleton, WI.
